DISHMAN HILLS CONSERVANCY
VIGOROUS 5.5 MILE MORNING HIKE - ILLER CREEK
Thurs. June 28, 9 am.
DHC board member, Mary Weathers, will lead this fairly difficult hike on rugged trails up the 5.5-mile loop from the Iller Creek Trail Head to the Rocks of Sharon with big views over the Palouse and yellow canola fields. The elevation gain is 1200' so it is best for those who are physically fit and hike regularly.
This hike will start at 9 am. We plan on being back to the cars about 1:00. Bring some snacks, water, and rainproof jacket in case of chilly winds/and or rain. As of Sun, there is a 20% prediction for rain.
We will meet at the Iller Creek Trailhead at 9100 E Holman Road.
Event is free, but registration is required.
Directions to Trailhead: From I-90, take the Argonne Road exit 287. Drive south on Argonne Road. Continue past Sprague Avenue onto Dishman-Mica Road, driving approximately 2.8 miles. Turn right at the Schafer Road stoplight and cross the railroad tracks. Continue until Schafer Road tees into 44th Ave and turn right on 44th. Go one block and turn left on Woodruff, continue on Woodruff to Holman and turn right and stay on Holman to the Trailhead sign. [Proceed slowly through the neighborhood.]
